Introducing the first in a new series of Noisy Daughters workshops for women in music, Creative Sampling - a free class led by Lisa Murphy

Learn to turn everyday objects into music!
A hands-on crash course in sampling your own sounds

  • A brief overview of the sampling and how it is used in music

  • An outline into the music technology setup we will use to capture and edit the samples we make

  • Creating sounds, based on a theme, to develop a piece of music using only sounds created in this session from non-musical items

  • Editing and placing samples to create rhythmic and melodic patterns in music software

This workshop is designed as an introduction to making music through the use of non-traditional musical instruments, i.e. we will record sounds made from any object that we can find in the workshop space, and use this to create a sound, captured as audio and manipulated in music software to create a part for a piece of music which you will create.

All happening on Saturday 7th May, 10:30am - 12:30am, and it's completely free!
For beginner/intermediate level women / those identifying as women in music
