Last Train Home 2018

LTH

!!! THANK YOU !!!

On September 22nd 2018 we hosted the very first Last Train Home Festival 2018, and it was everything we had dreamed of and more.
It was an amazing experience to be able to bring so many incredible artists to venues around the train station, and we were over the moon to see so many of you milling around and taking it all in.
We were overwhelmed by positive comments, and so honoured to have been given the opportunity to make it happen. It was hectic to say the least, but we had a blast scurrying between venues to catch everyone we could, and we hope you all did, too.

The acoustics and atmosphere in St John the Evangelist, Darlington, Darlington were beautiful, Hogans Bar, Darlington was absolutely amped, the Legacy Skate Store stage was the most hip-hop thing we've ever seen, the comedy stage at The Greyhound was hilarious, the artists at NARC. Magazine's Banktop Central stage were on another level, and The Hullabaloo sounded flippin' fantastic.

We'd like to offer a huge thanks to Arts Council England & Creative Darlington for their support on this event, and the many things we get up to, to Hilarity Bites Comedy ClubNARC. Magazine & Legitimate Anarchy Records for helping us programme such a fantastic line-up of artists, to all our stage managers for helping everything run smoothly, to all the venues and their staff for letting us fill their spaces with music, to Darlington For Culture - the official site for helping us staff the event, MT Audio Systems for providing backline, to Nathan Stephenson and his team for kitting out the venues with PAs and making everything sound brilliant, and to all the other partners and volunteers who worked hard behind the scenes, to all the wonderful artists on the bill who offered their talents and made the event such a joy, and of course to all of you who came along and enjoyed yourselves!

It was a pleasure to be able to host such an event in our very own town, bringing artists from all over the UK to Darlington, with some from as far as Glasgow & Southampton, and plenty closer to home from around County Durham, the Tees Valley, and the wider North East. It created a real melting pot of emerging and established talent, one in which the younger local artists could take away experience playing alongside more seasoned ones; the latter could lend their acclaim to Darlington and help establish it on the national cultural network; and audiences could enjoy a broad range of live music, in a few unexpected places.

There's a great review of the fest right here in NARC. Magazine, if you fancy a read: https://bit.ly/2CFzMxT
