LTH Express 21
We took over the platform at Head of Steam Railway Museum to present an intimate preview gig to celebrate Last Train Home Festival, which followed a couple of days after.
Ceitidh Mac, George Boomsma & Hayley McKay sounded spectacular echoing through the historic halls of Head of Steam Railway Museum. The atmosphere was pin drop silent, the artistry outstanding, and the setting felt like a trip back in time.
Big thanks to the audience for being so amazing, to Head of Steam for letting us use their space, to Darlington Borough Council Creative Darlington & Tees Valley Combined Authority for making this all happen, and extra special thanks to Saints Row Brewing Co. for bringing the booze
Pics by our Rob Irish, who also filmed a few of the songs and we’ll be releasing some session vids soon
Image Description: George Boomsma playing acoustic folk ballads; Hayley McKay with guitar in hand and violinist aside, and Ceitidh Mac with cello and accompanist on vibraphone, each performing on a beautiful Victorian train platform among fairy lights, to an enraptured crowd in the intimate darkness.
