Mish Mash Fest 2019

BRINGING THE WORLD TO DARLINGTON

On Sunday August 25th we held the first of a new music event for the town, which brought musical styles from all over the world to the Market Square.

In partnership with Darlington Borough Council, Mish Mash Festival saw everything from gypsy folk to flamenco, afrobeat to ska take over the stage, with workshops in dance and song alongside. The weather turned out perfectly, and a gleaming summer's afternoon played host to hundreds of people who filled the square to enjoy the music.

Playing, we had Bubamara (Folk-punk exotica), Clusterfolk (Irish Trad Trio), Los Capitanes (Flamenco Pop Fusion) & Weekend Sun (Funk & Soul), followed by a double headline bill of London Afrobeat Collective (Afro-funk noise bomb) & Chainska Brassika (Infectious Ska Rhythms). Every one of them was totally top quality, and combined with the weather, the atmosphere all day long was an amazing mix of fun and freedom.

The best news is, we'll be running it all over again next year, so stick 30th August 2020 in your calendars, and get ready for another mish mash of music and merriment.
