Mish Mash Weekender

It's back, and since we missed it last year, we thought we'd make it TWICE AS GOOD!

Yep, we've marked off the whole August bank holiday weekend for a two day party, packed with performances from some unbelievably cool musicians, representing stunning local talent, a fusion of local styles, and everything in between with food & drinks to match.

SATURDAY AUGUST 28th | 1pm - 8pm

ETHR | Cortney Dixon | Moon Wax | The Skapones | Los Capitanes | Weekend Sun

SUNDAY AUGUST 29th | 1pm - 8pm

Bubamara | The Dead Seat | Groove Nite | Biscuit Head & The Biscuit Badgers | Blackbeard's Tea Party | K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade

PLUS! The square will be filled wit food & drinks stalls, family crafts presented by BIG Little Gigs, and a whole line-up of free music & dance workshops to be announced.

Obviously we'll be keeping an eye on government guidance and adjusting to ensure we're providing the safest environment possible, but with a bit of luck this will be an open air, free to attend big old party in the Market Square, and we can all have a cracking bank holiday filled with friends, food & festivities.

This has all been made possible thanks to the support of Darlington Borough Council, and Tees Valley Mayor & Combined Authority, with whom we're also working to ensure the event is as safe and accessible as possible for all to enjoy.

Head down on August 28th & 29th and soak up the summer!

K.O.G AND THE ZONGO BRIGADE

Kweku Sackey aka K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana) is a multi-dimensional creative force, combining exquisite writing skills with shamanistic live performance, fierce raps, perfectly on pitch singing across a massive vocal range and some absolutely wicked dance moves. Not to mention his skills as a percussionist, arranger, bandleader and art director. A true poet and storyteller, he uses a mix of English, Pidgin and Ga to paint sonic pictures that reach deep into the souls of everyone ready to listen.

BLACKBEARD'S TEA PARTY

The past few years have seen Blackbeard’s Tea Party play at festivals as diverse as Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Fairport’s Cropredy Convention, The Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo and many more.

Their mix of traditional and self-penned songs and tunes are given a heavy rock edge with playful arrangements and driving dance rhythms,a dn they're now bringing this brand of gutsy folk rock to Darlington. This is all mixed up in an engaging, high-octane stage show that frequently leaves audiences cheering for more.

BISCUITHEAD & THE BISCUIT BADGERS

Faster than a speeding puffin, more chocolatey than a chocolate labrador, descending from apes (if they are tall enough) Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers release your ears to play backgammon undisturbed.

Tuba, piano, drums, ukulele, tickling and rubbing your senses into a fun stew. Enjoy yourselves, if you can; Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgersare greater than you think.
