Hark! The Sound of Christmas

Feeling a bit blue at the lack of Christmas concerts and carols by candlelight this year? So were we - which is why we're pleased to bring you a very special festive HARK!: the Sound of Christmas!

Featuring the internationally lauded

The Bookshop Band, playing some of their winteriest songs, as well as a couple of seasonal classics; Benjamin Amos, performing songs from his new, soul-soothing Christmas album 'Joy'; and the return of Darlington songstress Oui Bee - as well as a specially commissioned Christmas poem from rising star writer Lisette Auton, and readings from Dickens (of course!) and a special celebration of a tree from

Francoise Harvey - with an exclusive new animation from Andrew McAdam.

To add to the evening, there will be 200 gig-in-a-box treats available for audience members, filled with bits and pieces to complement the event, helping you set the mood and sing along. These will be available to collect from Darlington Library from 14th December on a first-come-first-served basis, with a limited number available to order from tracksdarlington@gmail.com, also from 14th December.

Huge thanks to Darlington Borough Council and Creative Darlington for supporting this special edition of HARK!, and to The Littlest Falcon for her beautiful linocut, mad specially for this event [below].

The event will be streamed live on Sunday 20th December at 7pm: www.facebook.com/events/833336390812435
