23/01 - LOOKING AFTER YOUR VOICE
With Claire Willmer

As a singer, your voice is your most important asset. This workshop will explore effective warming up, cooling down, common voice problems and tips to help keep your voice in good health.

20/02 - SONGWRITING
With Liz Corney

Liz is a musician, songwriter, educator and performer.  She is a member of the North East band The Cornshed Sisters and plays keyboards and sings for Field Music with whom she has toured nationally and internationally. In this workshop Liz will share her own songwriting process, from initial ideas to exploring approaches to lyric writing, rhythm, melody and harmony.

20/03 - WRITING CREATIVELY
With Francoise Harvey

In this workshop we’ll use prompts and creative techniques from written and visual art, applying them to your songwriting to inspire new ideas, delve into the themes they throw up, and explore new ways of expressing them in music and lyrics.

24/04 - PROMOTING MUSIC ONLINE
With Jodie Nicholson

Jodie Nicholson's a singer/songwriter from Hurworth who’s had a very exciting 2020 gaining airplay from Radio 1, 2, BBC 6 and BBC Tees. Jodie’s workshop will focus less on how to get your music online and more so what you can do before and after your release to draw attention, build momentum and keep it going, chatting about platforms, planning, audience awareness, engagement, content creation and visual identity.
